Day 2

Today started with one of the most god awful noises I’ve ever heard in my life. There is some kind of bird here that makes a horrendous noise. I want to throw something at it. It reminds me of the girl in “Failure to Launch” who can’t get any sleep due to the Mockingbird outside of her window and is looking for a way to kill it. I now completely understand how she felt.

After being so rudely awoken at 6:30 am and finishing yesterday’s post, I joined Leslie in the living room where we just chilled for about an hour or so until Rob and Jen woke up. Once everyone was up and functional, we decided that we would walk to Bondi Beach via the Bronte to Bondi Coastal Walk.

The walk was great and there were a few sculptures remaining from an art exhibit that is displayed along the walk for a few weeks each year. We made it to Bondi, had breakfast at Billy’s Wet Bar, and then made our way back to Bronte via the same coastal path.

We get back to the apartment to relax for a few minutes and talk about what we are going to do with the short amount of time we have before Rob has to go to the school to work (http://www.sydneytrapezeschool.com/). We were going to sneak in a quick beach visit, but on the way there we came to the realization that we wouldn’t have much time to get Rob to the school by the time he needs to be there. So in lieu of the beach, we pull up at the school and hang out there for a little while. It was nice to see the space they have set up and play around with the Power Risers for a little bit. Another benefit of stopping at the school for awhile was that Jen was able to make a decision regarding her job situation. Woo hoo!

It’s time to leave Rob behind at the school and take a quick driving tour of the city. With Jen behind the wheel, we drive through downtown Sydney, Surry Hills, and Paddington. It’s nice to get a lay of the land before we begin our true tourist adventures on Wednesday. The three of us are a bit hungry, so we stopped at a nice little café, Sloanes, in Paddington for some food and a glass of wine. After our meal, we had a nice stroll through Paddington, made our way to the grocery store, and then back to the apartment. The rest of the evening was spent relaxing and hanging out in the apartment.

Throughout the day we’ve decided on a game plan for the true tourist adventures that are to begin on Wednesday. Today was another chill day in Bronte enjoying the company of good people.
