The flight to Los Angeles was pretty standard. We had a nice dinner on the plane (as nice as one would expect from an airline), and we got through one of my rented movies on iTunes. If you haven’t seen “Taken”, I highly recommend it. The layover in LA went by pretty quickly, and Leslie and I were relieved to realize that the Yellow Hats, as we dubbed them, were not on our flight to Australia. After boarding the plan for the next leg of our trip, I took a sleeping pill and fell asleep for the next four hours. As usual, some part of my body went numb and I woke up. With about 8 hours left in the flight, I took another sleeping pill and fell asleep for another five hours. I work up with about three hours to go and decided to watch “Jackie Brown”, which continues to be an awesome movie.
The approach into Sydney was nothing less than amazing. It was almost more exciting to finally see land than anything else. I had a perfect view of the Harbour, the Sydney Opera House, and Bondi Beach. Now it’s time for our tray tables to be up, and to return our seats to the full and upright position. It’s time to land, go through customs, and meet Rob and Jen.
